Attacks on our community and our allies come from many directions, often as insidious as they are charged with not openly expressed but very real hate, and with an unstated mission to take our community and allies back to a vile/inhumane world of centuries ago. We MUST stand against this — Conversion Practices HAVE TO BE CALLED OUT wherever they occur, AND STOPPED for the protection and good of all Humane people across the world!
No pride without protection – join the campaign
Pride Month is here, a time for joy and celebration for the LGBTQ+ community. However, pride is also about safety and freedom for LGBTQ+ people, it is about LGBTQ+ people feeling free to be themselves without fear.
Pride is a stark reminder that conversion practices remain legal in the UK. That’s right, interventions that seek to ‘change’, cure’, or suppress the sexual orientation and/or gender identity of a person are legal and happening in the UK right now.
Whilst the Government celebrates pride publicly, we’re reminded that they failed to deliver on their commitment to publish a draft Bill to ban conversion practices by the end of the parliamentary session. They recently reaffirmed their commitment in the King’s speech, and now we want to see action.
